Fahrengripe - whine-fun-fun?

I'm trying to take this seriously but can not. Let me get this straight:

Michael Moore makes a movie about the government, the terrorist attacks against New York and Washington, D.C. and the war against Iraq. He paints it the way he sees it (as is certainly his right - it's his movie). Clearly this is biased from a certain viewpoint, but it doesn't make claims not to be.

Flash forward... Republicans, Bush supporters, and a bevy of others go out and make a movie purportedly to 'rebutt' Moore's movie. "Fahrebnhype9/11".

My confusion begins to set in after viewing the trailer... it is all about bashing Michael Moore. It calls him a liar, states he claims there is no terrorist threat (in Fahrenheit 911), and is collaborating with terrorists.

In the trailer and clip of the week, there are only attacks against Moore, and pathetically simplistic ones at that. I thought this was in answer to the movie... it feels more like we're on the playground after school.

I am not a Moore supporter, and I admit I've joked about his weight - but this is supposed to be a well-thought-out rebuttal showing how his movie was a lie? The companion book offerred includes "A diet suggestion for Michael Moore." I don't know that there is a lower level of attack than that.

Not much of a rebuttal if you spend your time with tongue-in-cheek fat references. The site also has a "Reviews" section, which is merely a short section of mostly anonymous or semi-anonymous comments from people who have seen neither movie. ??? Is this made by someone in their garage as a joke?

How can anyone vote for a government whose proponents and exponents support and participate in this slanderous drivel? Ann Coulter and Zell Miller coming on as objective commentators??? Ummm... did I wake up on the wrong side of the looking glass?

And by the way, the creators of the site (at least the domain holders) hide behind virtual office space from Davinci Virtual Offices. Are they ashamed of something? Trying to distance themselves? I don't get it.

Nature abhors a vacuum. Funny... I have a feeling the makers and participants in this film should be more concerned with Darwin and natural selection than vacuums, since outrageous stupidity such as this can not survive forever. :-)

I have decided to send a picture of "Anita" to my 419 scammers. Since I asked for more pitures of them in my last email, it's only fair. :-)

She's got the head and smile of Condoleezza Rice, the nose of Queen Latifah, and the eyes of Oprah Winfrey. Quite a looker... for a 15-minute Photoshop job...

In other news...

The children of Harry S. Krotem are still interested in his inheritance. What a surprise. "Anita" has responded, and is trying to help them process their claim.

I haven't quite figured out how I am going to end this exchange with my Sierra Leone scammers... I think I have gotten bored of it already, which is a shame.

It's the little things in life that make it enjoyable. If you can't find those things, why bother?

My picture blog is on hiatus until I get my phone back (or a new SIM card).

1st lost cell phone

Over the years I have had many cell phones. I've never lost a single one... until last night. I stepped out for a short while and it must've fallen out of it's holster... Didn't notice until a few hours ago (and of course I didn't notice when I lost it either).

Someone has it, and has been calling their friends all day. Tomorrow (later today) I will call each of them and try to get my phone back. Good thing I have an activity log to work off of. Thanks to phone number reverse-lookup, I can even ask for some of these people by name.

A fun time will be had.

Labor Day

Nice weather outside (though I haven't left the house). Will enjoy having a shortened work-week.

I finally responded back to my (or the late Harry S. Krotem's) 'children' Gabriel and Cynthia in Sierra Leone. After waiting 10 days, it will be interesting to see if they respond... Read August's posts if you want to follow the entire saga.

Time to lie on the couch while I still can enjoy having a Monday off...

Slacked off quite a bit... since I haven't had a post in awhile. President is in town for RNC. My office building is next door to Waldorf... so we are semi-locked-down.

A benefit is that we now have a barricaded Starbucks for our exclusive use -- and it's one of the most secure. There are several Secret Service agents and about 10 police officers in there at any given time.

Of course, how secure can you feel when you are so close to the target? :-)

I have to remember to email my friends in Sierra Leone tonight. I think they may have lost interest.
